Hey, all! Now that a week of November has passed, we thought we’d do a little NaNo/reading update.
NaNoWriMo this year has been… interesting. We aren’t caught up with what the current word count should be (we’re at 7k but planning to write at least 3k today!) and hopefully we’ll be on par with the word count soon! School has been getting in the way of how much we’re writing, but this weekend we’ve luckily been able to focus on reading/writing, which brings me to my next point…
Reading: How much have we gotten done? Well, if you’ve seen our latest wrap-up posts, not a lot. Again, school has gotten in the way of how much reading we’d like to get done, but never fear–winter break is almost here! We’re planning on reading A LOT in December, as we only have one exam (woot!). Sarena’s currently reading FAIREST in preparation for WINTER, and I (Sasha) am reading THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO. That’s right, I’m reading an almost-900+ page book during NaNoWriMo, and also want to read WINTER this month (like, as soon as it comes out) which is over 800 pages. Whew, I’m going to have quite the reading month!
If you’re doing NaNo, let us know how you’re doing in the comments below! Remember: try to write every day, and even if the words feel terrible, at least you’re WRITING. That’s the point of NaNo–write the book first, edit later. It’s a great way to get that first draft that’s been wandering around in your head written down. I know, you probably feel like this right now (I do too):
But once the words get flowing, you’ll feel like this!
And that’s all for our Week 1 NaNo/reading update! Also: fun fact, our birthday is on Tuesday, so expect a birthday book haul coming soon! Until next time,
